A pure experience

In september all around Florence the, the winery and agricultural farms are involved in the grape harvest; visitors may attend the vintage if they like it.

Autumn is the season of chestnuts: at this time their picking takes place and, in the mountain villages town festival are organized dedicated to such a fruit.

In Tuscany the monh of november is dedicated to the picking of olives and “extra vergine” oil production, that is considered as one of the best.

Going through our country strees it's usual to see such animala as hares, pheasants, roes, squirrels; all this gives you the immediate sensation to be in a different world, where peace and quiet are possibile.

From Bordoni House you can walk or bike, through marked paths, to the Park of Fonte Santa (altitude: 580 mt): it is about 45 minutes walking from the house. In the park here is a little house, mountain dew, that goes back to 1935 and an important water fount.

The weather is here always mild, the rich vegetation lets you breath healthy fresh balmy air. Once reached the top of the hill you can see all the valley, enchanting glimplse on Chianti hills and the city of Florence.

From Bordoni House it is easy to reach even the most known and appreciated towns of Tuscany: Florence - Siena - PisaVolterraSan GimignanoLucca - Arezzo … beautiful cities, rich of arts and history.

Going through the via Chiantigiana (the wine street of Chianti) for about 20 km, coasting the international Golf club of Ugolino and passing through huge vineyards, you will reach Greve, the heart of Chianti, with its very beautiful castles and the most important wine factories, known all over the world.

Casentino valley, just 60 Km far from Florence in the province of Arezzo, is not less important. Its splendid forests, its mountains, the delicious villages located along the valley, build a sunny and welcoming countryside. Do not miss to visit the splendid Santuario della Verna (Verna Sanctuary), force and beauty of nature, that arises on the stone, where Saint Francis of Assisi received the Stigmata. We suggest you to visit the very beautiful castle of Poppi and the castles of Porciano and Romena, that hosted Dante Alighieri.

Some critics claim that Casentino Valley was a source of inspiration for Dante Alighieri for the 24 Cantos of Purgatory and the conformation of the region as model of the physical structure of “Purgatory“.
